Thabit
Thabit is a 10-year-old boy from [removed]. He tried, unsuccessfully, to escape from his terrorist captors. Thankfully, our team found him and paid for his freedom. Thabit was placed with an underground house church family immediately. He is learning about Jesus from his new parents, seven brothers, and three sisters. Thabit also is learning how to read and is receiving Bible training. His chores include feeding the family's animals and cleaning his room. Someday, he hopes to be a farmer.
After being placed with his house church family, Thabit needed trauma counseling to help him overcome the abuse suffered at the hands of his captors. At first, he didn’t talk much. As someone being trained for jihad, Thabit didn't learn how to play until he began interacting with other boys from the house church. Thabit has been making great progress thanks to the love, care, and support he receives from his new mother and father. He also is meeting with a trainer every week to help God heal his heart. He even has begun sharing his “Jesus story” with others.
